Smart mobility. Strong economy.

The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign is the perfect opportunity to present sustainable mobility alternatives to citizens and make progress towards creating a more sustainable transport strategy for Europe.

The aim of the campaign, which runs from 16-22 September every year, is to encourage European local authorities to introduce and promote sustainable transport measures and to invite people to try out alternatives to car use. The week features the #Car-FreeDay event, where participating towns and cities set aside one or several areas only for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport for a whole day.

Since the start of 2016, over 26 countries and 455 participating cities have registered to take part in the week while other national coordinators have also been working to make the campaign visible in their countries. Among them is Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is about to launch its EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK webpage. Registration is available in almost all official EU languages and in a number of languages from non-EU countries (Montenegrin, Slovenian, Norwegian), and there is also a registration option for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
