CARE International is organising the Round Table Presentation of women entrepreneurship from BIRAC Regionon 6 April 2016 beginning at 11:30 h at the RS Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in Banja Luka.

The Round Table is one of the activities of the EU funded project “Inclusive Economic Growth and Employment Generation in Eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina – Birac Region”andwill raise topics related towomen’sentrepreneurship; include examples of joint activities of local authorities and women’s lead businesses from Birac region and models of investments and programmes supporting local economic development and point out stakeholders’ priorities for favourable business environment and job creation in BIRAC Region.

The event will be attended by the project’s implementing partners and beneficiaries as well as representatives of local and regional bodies responsible for economic development. Participants will be addressed by the Assistant Minister of Agriculture of Republic of Srpska, Boris Pašalić and CARE Project Manager Branislav Tanasijević.

The gathering will welcome a presentation of the work of Women’s Association“Maja”Kravica in light of business empowerment of BIRAC women and challenges they are facing in their agricultural business efforts. Meeting will steer discussion among the government authorities and NGO sector involved in rural development, with an aim to promote using examples of women successfully involved in agribusiness and spreading these best practices to other regions of Republic of Srpska and BIH.

Birac Region Project is financed by the European Union through IPA 2013 and co-financed by the Austrian Development Cooperation and CARE Austria. The project, with the goal to stimulate economic development and creation of employment opportunities in Birac Region has the budget of 720.000,00 EUR,out of which the EU provided 500.000,00 EUR, CAREAustria 112.000,00 EUR and Austrian Development Cooperation108.000,00 EUR.This project, with the duration of 30 months, started in January 2014. It is implemented by CARE and its local partners, Municipality Vlasenica, Women’s Association “Maja” Kravica and Regional Advisory Service Bratunac and in cooperation with municipalities Bratunac, Srebrenica and Milici.
