The Paris Agreement on climate change is the first universal, legally binding global climate agreement. It was signed on 22 April 2016 and ratified by the European Union on 5 October 2016.

At the Paris climate conference (#COP21) in December 2015, 195 countries committed to tackling climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by keeping global warming to well below 2°C. This commitment brings about many changes, from the way we live, travel and consume. But it also brings about new opportunities.

The Paris Agreement has been published today in the Official Journal of EU.
