The EU Info Centre in Bosnia and Hercegovina (EUIC) seeks to recruit qualified and experienced employee for the position of Office Assistant.

The EUIC, which was established in 2014, is a European Union funded project implemented by CEU Consulting. The EUIC’s main objective is to increase general understanding of the EU, its politics and programmes among the citizens of BiH, as well as to increase knowledge of the country’s accession process and its implications, particularly among students/youth.

LOCATION:

The EUIC office and conference room is located in the building of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Skenderija 3a, Sarajevo. Prospective employee will be working in the office (work hours 9:30 – 17:30 on weekdays, occasionally longer and on weekend days – if required by the project) and other locations in BiH when requested.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The EUIC Office Assistant will be the first point of contact for all visitors to the Information Centre, for email inquirers and telephone callers. The Office Assistant will be responsible to the Team Leader. S/he will participate in the daily staffing and provide support in implementation of events, promotions, presentations and other EUIC’s activities. Moreover, s/he must be capable and ready to cover for the Public Information Officer when required, that includes (but not limited to) preparation of media reports (Media Advisory, Press Release etc.), giving guidance for organisation of events and competitions, managing of publications, their printing/design/layout and language quality, distribution and cataloguing. The EUIC Office Assistant should be ready to travel occasionally within BiH.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent written and spoken English and one of BiH constituent languages
  • At least 3 years of general professional experience in the field relevant to the assignment
  • Good understanding of EU-related issues
  • Broad knowledge of the BiH political scene, economic scene, media and civil organisations
  • Very good computer skills (use of MS Windows OS, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Ability to organize work and to work productively with indirect supervision in a highly visible environment
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, form and effectively maintain contacts and relationships with persons from various social groups

PREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field (communications, sociology, politics, marketing or similar)
  • Valid driver’s licence and driving experience
  • Ability to deliver presentations and communicate information effectively verbally, in writing and through educational technology to adults and youth
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a team setting
  • Ability to effectively operate in stressful situations

From January to the end of May 2016, with a possibility for an extension until the end of May 2017
