The EU Info Centre in Bosnia and Hercegovina (EUIC) seeks to recruit qualified and experienced employees for 3 Communication Officer positions at the EU Info Points in Banja Luka, Mostar and Brcko.

The EUIC, which was established in 2014, is a European Union funded project implemented by CEU Consulting. The EUIC’s main objective is to increase general understanding of the EU, its policies and programmes among the citizens of BiH, as well as to increase knowledge of the country’s accession process and its implications, particularly among students/youth.

The EU Info Points in Banja Luka, Mostar and Brcko are planned to be open in September 2016, extending the EUIC Network further and serving as regional EUIC offices.

LOCATION:

The EUIC office and conference room is located in the building of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Skenderija 3a, Sarajevo. A prospective employee will be working in one of the offices in Banja Luka, Mostar and Brcko that will be established during the summer 2016.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The EUIP Communication Officer will be responsible for the smooth running of the EUIP. S/he will be responsible for public customer service and information at the EUIP. S/he will coordinate the work of the EUIP and be responsible for the support staff and coordinate the smooth functioning of the EUIP including prioritising tasks on a regular and on an ad-hoc basis.

S/he will be responsible for the implementation of all the activities and tasks assigned by the EUIC/ Team Leader in the EUIP and the respective region. Such expert must have sound knowledge of the BiH political scene, economic scene, media and civil organisations and be able to identify and suggest target groups and lists of participants to public events. S/he must also have broad knowledge of EU – BiH relations in order to be able to fully understand and address the public activities envisaged under this contact. The expert must have excellent presentation skills and experience in communicating with different target groups such as students, institutions, public administrations, the media and CSOs.

Qualifications and skills:

  • University degree;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Driving experience will be considered an advantage.

 

General professional experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a field relevant to the assignment.

Specific professional experience:

The expert must:

  • Have sound knowledge of the BiH political scene, economic scene, media and civil organisations;
  • Be able to identify and suggest target groups as well as a list of participants for the public events;
  • Have broad knowledge of EU-BiH relations;
  • Excellent presentation skills and proven experience in communicating with various information multipliers and relevant stakeholders.

APPOINTMENT DURATION:
From September 2016 to the end of May 2017.
