As part of the 12th edition of the Pravo Ljudski Film Festival, the anti-festival which invites thinking about art, film and everything human, the EU Info Centre hosted a two-day series of creative workshops, “School of Film Text,” with the aim of strengthening critical expression and analysis of socially responsive documentaries and independent film production.

Film criticism has become an inseparable aspect of the festival, aiming to showcase film selection, bring to focus societal and political questions the selected films depict, and also to promote critical reading of film based on argument, knowledge and sensibility.

The creative workshops were aimed at film readers, journalists from the area of culture, and young people, who write and want to publish art criticism. The workshop was moderated by Miquel Martí Freixas, university professor, film critic, experienced selector, and one of the founders of the Spanish magazine Blogs and Docs, dedicated to documentary and experimental film.
