Adnan Tiro, a 28-year-old from Kakanj with a Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, and his company Solvio d.o.o. are proof that hard work with appropriate support gives excellent results.
Adnan’s desire to become an entrepreneur and work for himself is his student dream. Even then, he believed in himself and through various educations, cooperation and freelancing jobs, he diligently improved his knowledge and skills in engineering and software development.
Starting own business was Adnan’s guiding star
During his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, he independently developed computer engineering skills (CAD, FEM, CFD, etc.). “I gained my first work experience as a mechanical engineer. During three years of working “for others”, I realized that I can and want to achieve much more. Starting my own business has since become my mission, guiding star and goal I wanted to achieve“, says Adnan Tiro.
Adnan started doing freelance jobs intensively and realized that he could earn more if he worked for himself. However, being a freelancer has its limitations, of which Adnan was well aware. He was missing an essential step on this journey – knowing how to make and run his own business.
Training “Start your own business” – a turning point in Adnan’s life
Adnan applied to the Public Call for Training “Start Your Own Business” within the EU4Business project and thus used the opportunity to start his own business. After successfully completing the training, he started his own company but also procured quality work equipment. “Through the “Start Your Business” training, I gained knowledge I lacked. A lot of useful information for running the business, from planning and monitoring costs to legal regulations. “, says Adnan.
The immediate success of a young BiH entrepreneur!
Today Adnan’s company Solvio d.o.o. mainly works with the international market and deals with industrial and product design and machine constructions. As he says, it helps people develop products and improve existing ones through professional prototyping.
He is pleased with the diversity of work and successfully implemented projects. So far, he has had the opportunity to work as a product designer on interesting projects such as parachute development for the US market. All this is just the beginning of this promising business. At the moment, Adnan is the only employee of his company, but as the business grows, so does the need to hire professional staff. “I expect the company I started to have a lot more opportunities. In the future, I hope to expand the business and create new jobs, hire other people from our country, make a long-term plan and further develop the business.“, says Adnan.
He says that he owes special gratitude to the European Union and International Labor Organization for recognizing the importance of this topic for young people in BiH. Also, special appreciation goes to the Municipality of Kakanj and Association LiNK Mostar, who provided exceptional support to all candidates during the “Start Your Business” training process.
