TOLERANCE: Sarajevo hosts exhibition of the most influential contemporary designers

On the occasion of Europe Day, Graphic Design Section of the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, the EU Info Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Student Visual Communication Festival POP-UP! Sarajevo are organising an exhibition entitled TOLERANCE, on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 12:00 in front of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

The exhibition portrays 24 posters by renowned designers from all around world on the topic of tolerance.

The exhibition will be opened by:

• Initiator of the exhibition Mirko Ilić, owner of a New York artstudio Mirko Ilić Corp.
• Lars Gunnar Wigemark, Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH
• Marina Finci, Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo

Announcing the exhibition, Milton Glaser, one of the authors of the posters and the most influential contemporary graphic designers, explained his view of tolerance.

“Tolerance is essential for humans to embrace. It is the only antidote for the competitive drive that characterizes our species. At this moment in history, there’s a slightly reluctant quality to the word. What we really want it to mean is acceptance and generosity,“ Glaser said.

In addition to organising the exhibition, Mirko Ilić will spend time with graphic design students and hold a special lecture for students and media representatives.
