The celebration of Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina began with the opening of the multimedia exhibition “Awakening of Solidarity”, a product of creativity and solidarity of young artists and activists throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ambassador Johann Sattler, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative in BIH, together with Elma Hašhimbegović, Director of the History Museum of BiH and Benjamina Karić, Mayor of Sarajevo, officially opened the exhibition.
Ambassador Sattler emphasized that the strength of unity and tolerance are in the heart of Europe and that in the spirit of solidarity and togetherness, the European Union and its Member States are helping BiH overcome the consequences of the pandemic.
The multimedia exhibition “Awakening of Solidarity” is the result of cooperation of numerous young BiH artists and architects on the theme of solidarity, tolerance and activism. The exhibition is inspired by murals by Rikardo Druškić, which he painted in five BiH cities as part of a European Union project in cooperation with Elma Hodžić, Vedran Poričanin and Benjamin Čengić. The exhibition also presents works by Dunja Krvavac and Nedim Mutevelić. Video animation and sound design are signed by Adis Billain Kutkut, and the curator of the exhibition is Elma Hodžić from the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The multimedia exhibition will be open until May 30, 2021 in the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
